The 2G11 Base we carry is very rare in the USA. Just try to find these as an individual part. The best ones are made in Europe and we have imported them here especially for our DIY customers.

Practically every professional fluorescent biax studio light uses this type of base. Why? Because its so easy to insert a biax 2G11 (also known as PL) lamp into it, locking it into place in the process. Taking it back out is as simple as depressing the red button on top to unlock the lamp's electrodes.

These bases include the normal press-in, secure wire terminal connections on the bottom which are optimally used with 18 gauge 600 volt rated solid core hookup wire. If you're building from scratch this is the PL socket for you! Color: White with red release button.
