Cool Lights News
May 30, 2006. The Cool Lights Video with Richard Andrewski is officially for sale on our website which is now fully running. The video has been out on Amazon.com since April and on Ebay for a while now too. It took us a bit longer than anticipated to get the website to the point we wanted but now it's there! In addition, very soon we will have support products for building your own fluorescent lights on the website too. These will be in the form of kits as well as individual parts. We will be offering hard-to-find items like barn door kits, cast aluminum and sheet metal fixtures, yokes, reflectors, bulb support clips, sockets, ballasts, wire, 55 watt biax bulbs in 3200K and 5600K color temperatures (at more reasonable prices than those available today and in two grades a High CRI premium bulb and an average CRI standard bulb), and 200 watt compact fluorescent bulbs in 3200K and 5600K (these are real monsters for putting out a lot of light and will work well in softbox fixtures). We will also be a good source for telescoping light stands similar to those halogen worklight stands but in black instead of yellow. Should be coming soon. Keep in touch.
January 17, 2007. We now have fully assembled fixtures for sale as well as many of the parts we have promised in the past. Our Blog is running and the Cool Lights Video Magazine (our Vlog) will be a great place to show off new products and talk about how to do things with quick videos. For our next product development cycle we'll be exploring new, low cost HMI fixtures as well as some new fluorescent portable models. We don't have a great source for the 3200K/5600K spiral or 200w lamps yet but we're still working on it and won't settle for a cheap alternative.
March 15, 2007. I've posted the first of a series of articles on HMI technology in the Blog. We'll show how to construct a metal halide fresnel from a used one and will continue to educate about HMI and what it is. This education process is step one for our coming fixtures which will set new price points for serious HMI alternatives.
August 8, 2007. We've begun posting many of the new product webpages on the site and will add more information to them as we can. This will allow customers and potential customers to assess the new products well before they arrive in the October timeframe. We were going to have a pre-arrival sale for the new products but our philosophy has been to only to allow checkout and paying for items that are in stock so we can maintain a good reputation and customer relations. The manufacturing / shipping process is such a long and arduous cycle that we feel it's better to just offer the products for sale when they're actually in stock. Even though the products are being posted on the site now, you will not actually be able to check out with them in your cart until they are finally in stock in the USA. For those outside of the USA however, you should already start contacting us for your orders and shipping quotes as we will ship direct from China for most of you.

June 25, 2008. New shipment of 1200w HMI Pars and CDM 150 fresnels begins shipping to customers today.
