My name is Richard Andrewski and this is my company website and blog. Cool Lights is dedicated to producing DIY and other low cost solutions to video lighting. In this blog I’ll be posting a lot of thoughts about DIY video light building, low cost fluorescent studio lighting and the issues surrounding that, fluorescent bulbs, ballasts, and in general, everything about building your own video lighting.

I’ve been working on the website, and have some more exciting things coming soon. As promised we have new products coming in January–it’s taken about two months more than I had hoped but product development is quite often a slow process. I don’t want to talk too much right now about the details of the products, but it will be worth the wait and also be easy on your budget too. Some real surprises too in the level of professional look and functionality. Let’s put it this way: you won’t feel like you have anything less than others that have spent hundreds more. I’ll let more information out closer to January.

Also, in honor of the changes coming (and for Christmas) we’re lowering the price of the video to $49.00 and giving free shipping to Continental U.S. customers only. All other customers pay our normal, nominal shipping charges. We’ve also opened ordering up to other customers outside of the United States. As long as you can play our Region One DVD then you can buy the video and take part in DIY fluorescent video lighting.

The products we’ll offer will be a great supplement to the information given in the Cool Lights DVD making DIY fluorescent video lighting easier than ever. I’ve been away in China working on all this and it has been quite an adventure (but that’s another story for another time!).
